WordPress automatically saves previous versions of your posts and pages as revisions. This means that if you make a mistake or accidentally delete something, you can easily undo the changes.
To undo changes in WordPress with post revisions, follow these steps:
- Go to the Posts page in your WordPress dashboard.
- Click on the title of the post or page that you want to undo changes for.
- In the editor, click on the Revisions tab.
- A list of all the revisions for the post or page will be displayed.
- Click on the revision that you want to restore.
- WordPress will restore the selected revision to the post or page.
You can also use the Revisions tab to compare different revisions of a post or page. This can be helpful if you’re not sure which revision you want to restore.
To compare revisions, simply click on the Compare button next to the two revisions that you want to compare. WordPress will open a new window that shows the differences between the two revisions.
Once you’ve restored a revision, you can continue editing the post or page as usual. The restored revision will be saved as the current version of the post or page.
Here are some additional tips for using post revisions:
- You can increase the number of revisions that WordPress saves by going to Settings > Writing and changing the number in the Revisions box.
- You can also delete revisions that you no longer need. To do this, go to the Posts page and click on the Trash icon next to the revision that you want to delete.
- If you’re using a backup plugin, you can also use that plugin to restore previous versions of your posts and pages.
Post revisions are a great way to protect your work and ensure that you can always undo changes if something goes wrong. By following the tips above, you can make sure that you’re using post revisions to their fullest potential.
